No. You can use a blog for any purpose which does not violate the Acceptible Use Policy (basically, no crimes and no porno). In fact, we encourage people to use PowerBlogs to host their business-related blogs, and we offer services to businesses to help you get the most out of your business blog.
No, there is no limit. Please bear in mind, though, that the more authors you have on your blog the larger your pages will be, so the more bandwidth and disk space you will use. If you want to have 1.5 million authors on your blog that is fine with us, just be aware that you won't be able to run 1.5 million authors on $5/month.
Note: there is no set formula for how much extra bandwidth additional authors will consume. In many cases it will be negible, in others, extreme. Mentioning this is not meant to discourage you from adding extra bloggers, merely to make you aware of the possible implications.
No, it does not. The source for the image is on the main powerblogs website. When a browsers requests the image, they request it from us — not from your blog — so you don't get charged for the bandwidth.
Yes. Simply register mydomain.com, then modify the DNS to add CNAME entries for www.mydomain.com and mydomain.com to mydomain.powerblogs.com. If you don't want to go to the trouble, we can register your domain for the first year and set up the appropriate DNS entries for $25. (More information here.)
For each gigabyte you exceed your transfer limit, you will be charged the extra transfer amount specified in your plan. Gigabytes over your transfer limit will be rounded with normal rounding rules, i.e. 4.4 → 4 and 4.7 → 5.
Yes! You can run any advertisements that you want on your PowerBlogs blog. For most popular ad systems for bloggers (in particular, Google Ads and BlogAds) you don't need any special support from Powerblogs. When you sign up with them to run their ads, they'll give you some HTML to insert into your blog. Just insert it wherever you want it in your blog's theme (we recommend the Sidebar Special Content area) and you're good to go.
Yes! You can always upgrade your plan at any time. Though typically you will only want to upgrade one level at a time, you can upgrade from the lowest volume plan to the highest volume plan if you want to.
(Upgrading may require a brief interruption in your service (to migrate your account to a different powerblogs server), but typically will not require any interruption at all.)
